What is Colour Therapy?
Colour therapy is a non-invasive and non-manipulative energy therapy. Jo will use energy channeled through coloured silks, or through visualisation techniques to rebalance each of your energy centres, known as Chakras. Jo will place coloured silks on your body to guide energy flow. Your whole body may be treated or just specific parts, depending on where imbalances are thought to lie.
Colour therapy works on an energetic and spiritual level.
Colour therapy is carried out on bare skin so there will be a need to semi-undress, however the Client's dignity is assured at all times, and the Client will be laying on the massage couch. Alternatively, through visualisation techniques there will be no need to undress and the Client may remain sitting if this is more comfortable.
Before a therapy session Jo will ask a variety of questions to assess your issues and needs.
Throughout and following the therapy session Jo will provide feedback and advise any further requirements.
Who should have Colour Therapy?
Colour therapy is often described as a very gentle and relaxing treatment, which helps to restore a sense of peace, balance and well-being within the mind and body. Due its very gentle nature, it is often used to support those receiving conventional medical care in hospitals, hospices or at home, however anyone can have colour therapy.
Colour therapy is also not just for those that are able to see the colours. Colour therapy is as much about feeling the colours as it is seeing them. Therefore colour therapy can extend to the home and working environments, and to the clothes your chose to wear... even to the colour of a lipstick or nail varnish.
When can somebody not have Colour Therapy?
Colour therapy is carried out whilst the Client is semi-clothed, however Jo works without gloves on so those with some skin conditions may only be able to be offered a visualisation therapy session.
What to do prior to a Colour Therapy session?
If you are unsure whether you should be having colour therapy alongside other therapeutic modalities, or are under treatment for any particular condition, please feel free to consult your Doctor first. Jo is more than happy to discuss colour therapy with other health professionals should you wish to give them her number if you have any concerns.
For the session please wear loose fitting clothing such as those worn for yoga. Denim jeans and thick garments are not so easy to work or feel through and may reduce the overall impact and enjoyment of the session.
What to do following an Colour Therapy session?
You should ensure you have a good supply of clean, fresh water. You may drink more as colour therapy can have an energetic effect, having rebalanced the Chakras.
How much does a session cost?
Consultation in Jo's "Therapy Room" and therapy session: Discounted introductory offer of £25 (Usual price £45).
Subsequent therapy session: Discounted introductory offer of £20 (Usual price £40).
